Indonesia is taking steps to bring back the remains of a female migrant worker recently killed by her employer in Jordan, a minister said here on Wednesday.

Foreign Affairs Minister Retno Marsudi said that the government has also taken measures to take care of the slain migrant worker's belonging and settle the payment of her service with her former employer.

"We have settled her payment for her six years of service, amounting to 8,100 U.S. dollars, and the cost to bring her back here as well," Retno said.

The ministry has assigned a lawyer to take care of the slain worker's legal rights in Jordan, adding, "The assignment of the lawyer was aimed at assuring that her legal rights would not be exacerbated."

The ministry has also agreed that the Jordanian police carry out investigation into the murder case.
