Xinhua, August 25, 2015 Adjust font size:

A total of 41 militants have been killed in Afghanistan as the country's security forces continue to press the militants in restive provinces, the Afghan Interior Ministry said on Tuesday.

"Afghan National Security Forces carried out cleanup operations in Nangarhar, Parwan, Baghlan, Kunduz, Faryab, Sari Pul, Kandahar, Zabul, Uruzgan, Ghazni, Herat and Helmand provinces over the past 24 hours. As a result 41 armed insurgents were killed, 16 wounded and 11 others arrested by the ANSF," the ministry said in a statement providing daily operational updates.

The ANSF also found and seized weapons, the statement added.

The statement did not disclose if there were any casualties on the side of security forces.

The Taliban militant group has yet to make comments. Endi
