China VP meets ROK guests

Xinhua, August 24, 2015 Adjust font size:

Chinese Vice President Li Yuanchao met with a delegation from the Republic of Korea (ROK) on Monday.

The delegation, led by former ROK Prime Minister Lee Soo-sung and Chairman of the 21st Century ROK-China Exchange Association Kim Han-kyu, is attending the 15th China-ROK Elite Forum scheduled for Tuesday in Beijing.

Hailing the development of their relationship since the two countries established diplomatic ties in 1992, Li called on people from all walks of life in China and the ROK to get involved in exchanges and cooperation.

President Xi Jinping and President Park Geun-hye have agreed the two sides should become partners that share common development, promote regional peace and Asian revitalization, and boost world prosperity, according to Li.

Koreans agree on the importance of relations with China, the ROK guests said, stressing they are willing to work with the Chinese side to strengthen the ROK-China friendship.

Jointly sponsored by the Chinese People's Institute of Foreign Affairs and 21st Century ROK-China Exchange Association, the China-ROK Elite Forum is alternately hosted by China and the ROK every year. Endi
