Brazilian Ricardo 'Tuca' Ferreti was announced as interim coach of Mexico's national soccer team during the next four games, to replace Miguel 'Piojo' (Louse) Herrera, who was ousted weeks ago after an incident with a local television sports journalist, local press highlighted on Friday.
According to ESPN Mexico website, Decio de Maria, President of Mexican Football Federation (Femexfut), confirmed that Ferreti, who was leading Tigres club, will be the interim coach of the national team for the next four matches.
Ferreti, who has led Mexican teams for 24 years, is noted for being explosive and controversial. He has been criticized for the way he treats the players during the training sessions and the games, though he has also become a figure in Mexican football.
The frantic celebrations of Herrera when the team scored will fall into oblivion. Herrera, who is a charismatic coach, was ousted from the national team because weeks ago he hit a television sports journalist in Philadelphia Airport, at the end of Gold Cup.
Ferreti is a strategy person. He always shows self-control before the press and he uses sarcasm to answer difficult questions.
Being the coach of Mexico is a job with big pressure and certainly Ferreti is someone able to manage this.
'Tuca' has never been a person who interacts much with the media. He even has been highly criticized for his laconic personality.
Therefore, now the Mexican team will change completely its way of working. Ferreti is the kind of coach who calls only the players he trusts instead of the most famous. Endi
