South Korea's top military officer on Friday warned the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) of "a harsh price" for any further provocations.
Defense Minister Han Min-koo issued a statement to the public, saying that if the DPRK causes any provocations on the excuse of propaganda broadcasts, the South Korean military will sternly and severely retaliate and make the DPRK pay a harsh price for the provocations. (S.Korea-DPRK-Ties)

WASHINGTON -- The White House said on Friday that Fadhil Ahmad al-Hayali, the second-in-command of the extremist group the Islamic State (IS), was killed in a U.S. air strike on Aug. 18 while travelling in a vehile near Mosul, Iraq.
Also known as Hajji Mutazz, al-Hayali supported IS operations in Syria and Iraq and was in charge of the group's operations in Iraq, said National Security Council spokesman Ned Price in a statement. (U.S.-IS-Air strike)

CHICAGO -- Another black teenager was killed in the United States on Wednesday, 10 days after the first anniversary of death of Michael Brown, which caused massive protests in the country.

PARIS -- Three people were injured Friday afternoon by a gunman on a Thalys train connecting Amsterdam and Paris, newspaper Le Figaro reported Friday.
