The first open-source software designed to deal with the real-time analysis of massive data streams has been released, the Fraunhofer Institute for Intelligent Analysis and Information Systems announced Thursday.
The first software mastering big data using smart sensor technology is a part of the EU's "Ferari" project, which receives a total of 36 months of funding as part of the EU's seventh framework program for research.
Dr. Michael Mock, project manager at the Fraunhofer Institute, said the new software meant "the entire data stream is reduced to the bare essentials."
The idea behind the easy access is to advance the distribution of modern big data applications for science and economy as widely as possible, said the institute. Enditem
