Lithuania will arrange training for Ukraine's military instructors, the country's defense ministry announced Tuesday.
According to the ministry, the trainings are being arranged in response to Ukraine's request.
"Lithuanian military instructors will share their expertise in a two-week course organized for their counterparts from the Ukrainian Armed Forces, and will share experiences in arranging a marksmanship course and urban combat course," said the ministry in a press release.
A total of 23 military instructors from Ukraine have already arrived in Lithuania straight from operations in Eastern Ukraine.
Military trainings for Ukrainian instructors are among the recent assistance offered by Lithuania since the start of the military conflict in Eastern Ukraine a year ago.
The Baltic country has been providing humanitarian assistance, material support and some military equipment for Ukraine's army, as well as treating Ukrainian soldiers wounded during the conflict.
According to the Lithuanian foreign affairs ministry, Lithuanian state authorities have provided Ukraine with support worth around 2 million euros (2.21 million U.S. dollars) and received more than 90 Ukrainian soldiers and civilians to carry out treatment in recent years.
Both countries have strengthened their military cooperation by establishing Litpolukrbrig, a tri-national military brigade with Poland, last fall. Endit
