LME base metals mostly decrease on Monday

The base metals prices on the London Metal Exchange (LME) closed lower mostly on Monday.

The August 2015 Empire State Manufacturing Survey indicated that business activity declined for New York manufacturers.

The headline general business conditions index tumbled 19 points to minus 14.9, its lowest level since 2009 and well below market consensus of a 4.75-percent gain, reported the New York Fed on Monday.

The three-month unofficial copper price dropped 64 U.S. dollars, or 1.24 percent, to 5,099 U.S. dollars per tonne.

The three-month unofficial aluminium price lost 9.5 U.S. dollars, or 0.60 percent, to 1,567.5 U.S. dollars a tonne.

The three-month unofficial lead price lost 10 U.S. dollars, or 0.57 percent, to 1,735 U.S. dollars a tonne.

Besides, the three-month unofficial zinc price lost 12 U.S. dollars, or 0.65 percent, to 1,826 U.S. dollars a tonne.

The three-month unofficial nickel price increased 75 U.S. dollars, or 0.71 percent, to 10,637.5 U.S. dollars a tonne.

The three-month unofficial tin price lost in 37.5 U.S. dollars, or 0.24 percent, to 15,387.5 U.S. dollars a tonne. Endit
