Jailbirds break out of prison in Bulgaria, longing to visit beach

Two inmates, who escaped from a prison and were recaptured on the same day, said they intended to go to a sunny beach, according to local media.

The two men broke out of a prison near Burgas, one of the Black Sea coastal cities in Bulgaria on Wednesday and were recaptured the same day.

Burgas police said the two inmates made a hole in the wire fence of the detention facility and escaped to Rudnik, a residential district.

The men hid in a forested area but were spotted by locals on an empty road by locals. They were recaptured after nearly 10 hours on the run.

One of the unnamed inmates was a 23-year-old, who had been sentenced to two years in prison for theft and robbery, only two months of which remained to be served.

The other one was a 35-year-old, who had been sentenced to three years and eight months in prison for theft. He had two years remaining to be served.

When questioned they said they intended to go to the Sunny Beach, one of the Black Sea coastal resorts in the Balkan country. Endit
