Tajik winners at Rio Olympics to receive cash reward

Tajik athletes will receive cash prizes if they win medals at 2016 Rio Olympic Games, Tajikistan's Committee for Youth, Sports and Tourism Affairs said on Thursday.

The Tajik athletes will receive nearly 48,000 U.S. dollars for a gold medal, 32,000 dollars for silver, and 24,000 dollars for bronze.

Tajik presidential reserve fund will allocate money to award cash prizes to athletes.

On Jan. 9, 2015, President Emomali Rahmon signed the decree on awarding cash prizes to athletes who will win medals at international competitions.
