Tokyo shares end higher by midday on weaker yen

Tokyo shares ended the morning session higher on the yen's retreat against U.S. dollar.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average jumped 160.84 points, or 0. 78 percent, higher from Wednesday to 20,774.90.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was up 20.04 points, or 1.20 percent, to 1, 685.89. Endi
