Norwegian police said Wednesday a suspicious bomb-like object found at the University of Oslo contained no explosives and the bomb scare around the campus was over.
The object had been defused by police bomb squad and it turned out that there is no real explosives in it, but further studies would be made, Oslo police staff chief Johan Fredriksen said during a press conference Wednesday noon.
He emphasized that the object looked like a bomb and was likely to cause fear.
Police had cordoned off an area around the Blindern campus of the University of Oslo and a no-fly zone had also been imposed over the district on Wednesday morning after the suspicious object was found.
The bomb scare drama came after a security guard was shot in the same area overnight. He was not seriously injured because he was wearing a bullet-proof vest.
Police said they were still searching for two men who were suspects of the shooting. Endit
