Bulgaria issues yellow alert over heatwave

Bulgaria issued a yellow warning on Wednesday over the high temperatures, according to the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology with the Bulgarian Academy of Science.

The warning code is valid for 6 districts, which are Blagoevgrad, Pleven, Lovech, Veliko Tarnovo, Stara Zagora, and Haskovo. Temperatures in these districts are expected to reach 35°C - 36°C in a few days.

The institute announced that the maximum temperatures will be between 32°C and 37°C.

It is baking hot in Bulgaria on Wednesday although the cloudiness is expected to increase before night in the central and eastern regions of the country.

It is sunny along the Bulgarian Black Sea coast, and warm and mostly sunny in the mountains on Wednesday.

The atmospheric pressure will not register a significant change, remaining a little higher than the average for the month. Endit
