Italian foreign, economic ministers arrive in Tehran for talks

Xinhua, August 4, 2015 Adjust font size:

Italian Foreign Minister Paolo Gentiloni and Italian Minister of Economic Development Federica Guidi arrived in Iran's capital Tehran on Tuesday for talks on enhancement of political and economic cooperation with Iran, official IRNA news agency reported.

A group of economic and trade representatives of Italy also accompany the Italian senior officials in their visit to Tehran.

In their two-day visit, the Italian delegation will meet Iranian officials to exchange views on the ways of expanding mutual cooperation in energy, industry, agriculture and transportation areas.

Last week, EU foreign affairs chief Federica Mogherini visited Iran following a recent landmark nuclear deal between Iran and world powers.

She expressed hope that implementation of the nuclear deal would open new chapter in the economic, trade and political relations between Iran and the European Union and would help the expansion of Iran's relations with the European states.

Also, German Vice Chancellor Sigmar Gabriel and French Foreign Affairs Minister Laurent Fabius visited Iran last month to explore venues for political and economic cooperation with the country. Endit
