Australian retail sales up in June

Xinhua, August 4, 2015 Adjust font size:

Australian retail sales grew 0.7 percent in June, compared with 0.4 percent in May and the previously predicted 0.4 percent, the Australian Bureau of Statistics said on Tuesday.

Local consumers spent up on electronics, furniture, houseware and do-it-yourself renovation and hardware.

The largest contributor to the June rise was household goods retailing, which climbed 2.2 percent, the bureau said. Endi
