Tokyo stocks open lower in early trading following Wall Street declines

Tokyo stocks opened slightly lower in early trading Tuesday as investor sentiment was stifled following losses on Wall Street overnight.

At 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average was down 66.64 points, or 0.32 percent, from Monday to 20,481.47. The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange lost 4.18 points, or 0.25 percent, to 1,655.42.

Decliners were led by agriculture and fisheries, mining and nonferrous metals. Endi
