Boca Juniors, San Lorenzo leaders in Argentina's tournament

Boca Juniors and San Lorenzo are the current leaders of Argentina's local soccer tournament with 40 points each after the 19th matchday, local press reported Monda.

Boca Juniors, also known as "Xeneize", was winning the game played last Sunday night against Union de Santa Fe, but its goalkeeper fouled a player from the rival team and was sent off. Union de Santa Fe defeated Boca Juniors with a final score of 4-3.

The goals of Union de Santa Fe were scored by Ignacio Malcorra, Mauricio Martinez, Emmanuel Britez and Lucas Gamba, while the scorers of Boca Juniors were Carlos Tevez and Jonathan Calleri, both with two goals.

Before the defeat against Union de Santa Fe, Boca Juniors was the single leader of the tournament after four consecutive victories against Newell's Old Boys (4-0), Sarmiento de Junin (1-0), Quilmes (2-1) and Belgrano de Cordoba (1-0).

Now "Xeneize" shares the leadership with San Lorenzo, who last Saturday defeated Gimnasia with a 1-0 score. Both teams have 40 points after 12 won games, four ties and three lost games.

Following Boca Juniors and San Lorenzo, third place is occupied by River Plate with 37 points (10-7-1), fourth place by Rosario Central with 36 points (9-9-1), fifth place by Racing with 34 points (9-7-3) and Belgrano in sixth place also with 34 points (10-4-5).

Independiente is in seventh place with 32 points (8-8-3), Gimnasia in eight with 32 points (9-5-5), Tigre in ninth with 31 points (8-7-3) and Union in tenth with 27 points. Endi
