The multiple fires in Albania have caused the first victim in Saranda city, south of Albania.

The 62-year-old, Pellumb Shehu, father of two, died on Monday after being trapped in a fire that engulfed an area filled with olive trees.

Albanian Daily News reported that the fire burned a surface of 50 hectares of forests and olive trees.

Moreover, new fires started in Ternova Mountain, Zerqan commune, in Bulqiza district, north Albania. Wind and high temperatures have spread fire through 100 hectares of forests. The only firefighter vehicle in Bulqiza was unable to intervene, due to the difficult terrain. The flames are getting closer to the lake, where experts say that it will have caused by then enormous damage for the residents. Police are investigating as the fire was suspected to be a case of arson.

Meanwhile, fire has engulfed the Shen hanasi church in the Elbasan district. Firefighters have arrived at the scene to put the flames under control, but they are facing difficulties due to the difficult terrain. Although the causes of the fire are yet unknown, the first suspects fall on careless residents. The situation is even more dangerous since there is a military base near the fire.

An enormous fire has burned down ten hectares of forests in the National Park Shebenik-Jabllanica, Librazhd, north of Albania. Park employees and firefighters are working to put out the flames. Endit
