China securities regulator to better supervise program trading

China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) said Friday it will strengthen supervision on program trading after recent sharp ups and downs in the stock market.

Program trading is a type of trading in securities, usually consisting of a basket of stocks that are executed by a computer program simultaneously based on predetermined conditions.

The CSRC said program trading amplifies gains and losses and increases market fluctuations. Endi
