Laos plane refused entry to China has no link with ADIZ

Xinhua, July 30, 2015 Adjust font size:

A plane from Laos denied entry into China's airspace last week has no connection to the East China Sea Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ), a Defense Ministry spokesman said on Thursday.

"Lao Airlines flight QV916 on route from the Republic of Korea to Laos attempted to fly over China's airspace on Saturday without permission from the country's aviation authority," spokesman Yang Yujun said at a news briefing.

The airline submitted an "interim and vague" flight entry request to China and did not respond to requirements for further information, so permission was not granted to the flight, Yang said.

"China prohibited the flight from entering Chinese airspace in accordance with its air traffic control regulations, which have nothing to do with the ADIZ," Yang said. Endi
