Latvian retailers sales up 6.2 pct in H1

Latvian retail companies saw their calendar-adjusted sales rise 6.2 percent year-on-year in the first half of 2015, according to data released on Thursday by the national statistics office.

Food retailers raised their sales 2.8 percent against the first half of 2014 and sales by non-food retailers quickened 8.6 percent.

Without calendar-adjustment, the Latvian retailers' sales grew 4.7 percent in the first half of this year.

In June 2015, seasonally adjusted sales by Latvian retailers picked up 6.8 percent against the same month a year ago and 0.8 percent against May 2015, the statistics office said. Endit
