French stock market index up 0.81 pct on Wednesday

The French stock market benchmark index CAC 40 gained an advance of 0.81 percent to close at 5,017.44 points on Wednesday, up 40.12 points.

With companies publish their first six months results, the CAC 40 of Paris closed higher on Wednesday with 28 of the 40 selected companies gaining advance.

The top three gainers on Wednesday were Peugeot, up 6.04 percent, Technip, up 3.78 percent, and Total, up 2.54 percent.

The three companies whose stocks dropped most on Wednesday were Solvay, down 2.97 percent, BNP Paribas, down 0.93 percent, and Societe Generale, down 0.80 percent.

In the previous trading day, the CAC 40 gained an advance of 1.01 percent to close at 4,977.32 points, up 49.72 points. Endit
