Parents of youth killed in car accident in Austria found murdered

Xinhua, July 30, 2015 Adjust font size:

Austrian police have found the bodies of a murdered couple on Wednesday after attempting to notify them their 19-year-old son had been killed in a traffic accident.

The police said the 40-year-old woman and the 50-year-old man had been stabbed to death in their home in Klagenfurt sometime overnight on Tuesday, a 15 cm kitchen knife allegedly used as the murder weapon found in their kitchen.

Their son, a mechanic, was found dead on the A2 Autobahn by the town of Velden after a heavy crash with a truck totaled his vehicle early on Wednesday morning. Authorities believe he was speeding through a construction site when he rammed the larger vehicle, the impact causing fatal injuries.

Current police reports suggest a link between the deceased son and the murders is unclear, and suspicions he was fleeing the scene are currently speculation, though he is confirmed to have been living with the couple.

The couple also has a 21-year-old son believed to have been living elsewhere, who is currently undergoing counseling before authorities question him over the incidents. Endit
