Indonesian court sentences Turkish citizen to 6 years for terrorism activity plan

The North Jakarta district court on Wednesday sentenced a Turkish citizen to six years in imprisonment for his plan to engage in terrorism activity in Indonesia.
Ahmed Bozoglen alias Hamzah, 27, was found guilty of entering Indonesia by violating the country's immigration law with purpose of joining a terrorist group in Indonesia, Presiding Judge Houtman Lumbang Tobing disclosed.
"The defendant used a fake passport. He will join the terrorist group in East Nusa Tenggara known as Santoso group," he said during a court session.
The court also fined the defendant with 100 million rupiah ( some 7.438 U.S. dollars), according to the judge.
The court found evidence in the form of document, with one of them showing that Bozoglen was aiming to join the Santoso group, state prosecutor Nana Riana revealed.
"It has content about the jihad, military and his aims to take part in the Santoso group activity," she said.
Previously on July 13, the court sentenced three Turkish citizens to six years for violating the immigration rules and planning to engage in terrorist activities in Indonesia. Endi
