Tokyo shares end mixed on weak domestic earnings reports

Xinhua, July 29, 2015 Adjust font size:

Tokyo issues ended the trading Wednesday mixed as sentiment here was weighed by weak earnings reports for domestic big firms.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average inched down 25.98 points, or 0.13 percent, from Tuesday at 20,302.91.

However, the broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange edged up 4.48 points, or 0.27 percent, at 1,633.94.

Decliners were led by electric machinery and shipping issues, while gainers included information and communication, and precision instruments.

The turnover was about 2,459.7 billion yen (about 19.90 billion U.S. dollars). Endi
