Macao's unemployment rate up 0.1 pct in Q2

Macao's unemployment rate in the second quarter increased 0.1 percent quarter-to-quarter to 1.8 percent, according to figures released Monday by local Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) .

The DSEC data indicated that the total labor force of Macao in the latest survey was 405,400 and the labor force participation rate stood at 73.9 percent. Total employment decreased by 1,200 quarter-to-quarter, with those aged 55 between 64 dropping by 900.

Analyzed by industry, employment in Real Estate & Business Activities and Gaming & Junket Activities dropped by 1,400 and 800 respectively, while that in Hotels & Similar Activities rose by 2, 300, the DSEC figures showed. Endi
