The Chinese volleyball club of Liaoning on Saturday had a lopsided victory of 3-0 over Thailand at the 2015 International Women's Volleyball Tournament-VTV Cup which lasts from July 25 to Aug. 1 in Vietnam's southern Bac Lieu province.

After 86 minutes, Liaoning players defeated Thai young rivals in the three sets at the same score of 25-22. Right into the game, Chinese players had an upper hand with many powerful serves and hits. Liaoning sometimes extended the lead by 6-7 points.

Chinese girls maintained the lead of 16-10 in the first set for a while, and made the lead of 5-2 early in the second set. They often maintained the lead by 3 points in the third set.

With the lopsided victory, Liaoning has proved a strong candidate for the championship, although the club' s key players, including Sun Hai Ping, Duan Fang, Yan Ni, Ding Xia are absent at the tournament in Vietnam. Chinese players have good heights and strength, and half of the club' s members were born in 1988 or 1989.

Also on Saturday, Vietnam beat the Philippines 3-0 with the scores of 25-16, 25-18 and 25-15. On Sunday evening, Vietnam will clash with the Chinese club of Nanjing.

The tournament attracts six teams from China (with Nanjing and Liaoning clubs), the DPRK, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam. Endi
