Chinese embassy in Slovakia celebrates 88th PLA founding anniversary

The Chinese embassy in Bratislava celebrated the 88th anniversary of the founding of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) on Thursday.

Chinese Ambassador to Slovakia Pan Weifeng gave a brief overview of the founding of the PLA, pointing out that the PLA is not only a defender of China's national interests, but also making great efforts to safeguard the world peace and security.

"With nearly 3,000 military personnel in 9 peacekeeping operations around the globe, China is the biggest donor country among the five permanent members of the UNSC," said Pan.

He said the PLA is willing to cooperate with Slovakia and other countries to assist in situations of need, for further development and military to military relations.

"We are bound to push Chinese-Slovak military relations to a new level of cooperation and make new contribution to the development of bilateral relations," Pan added. Endit
