Cruise stars at Mission: Impossible premiere in Vienna

Xinhua, July 24, 2015 Adjust font size:

Hollywood star Tom Cruise was greeted by hundreds of fans at the premiere of his new film Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation in Vienna on Thursday evening.

Cruise, dressed in a black shirt, jeans, and aviator sunglasses, was joined by co-star Simon Pegg, the pair arriving at the Vienna State Opera, where the film was screened, at 16:30, one-and-a-half hours earlier than scheduled.

Fans had been waiting in the hot sun for up to hours for the chance to get an autograph or a photo, while 50 journalists and camera teams from around the world were also present.

The premiere is the first of its scale to be held in the Austrian capital, and is reported to have been held there at the request of Cruise himself.

Event organisers had earlier said they are hopeful the publicity will lead to more such events being held in Vienna in future. Endit
