Four people, including two children under 10 years old and a woman, were shot and killed in a shooting incident, which took place on Wednesday at a residence in suburbs of Atlanta, the capital of U.S. State of Georgia, U.S. media reported.

According to ABC news, local police officers received a call from a concerned relative from another county around 6 a.m. after the relative received a call from someone inside the house, along the Old Atlanta Road about 50 km northeast of the city. (US-Shooting)

LAGOS -- At least 17 persons were killed in two separate attacks happening in northeast Gombe and central north Plateau State of Nigeria Wednesday.

A police spokesperson in Gombe Fwaje Atajiri told Xinhua over the phone that nine people lost their lives while several others sustained varying degrees of injury in two separate attacks that rocked the state. (Nigeria-Attack)

WASHINGTON -- U.S. President Barack Obama discussed with Afghan leaders ways to deepen security partnership between the two countries, the White House said Wednesday.

CAIRO -- At least 19 people died Wednesday in a shipwreck on Nile River in Cairo, capital of Egypt, according to the statement from the Egyptian Interior Ministry.

The accident happened when a ferry carrying at least 30 people struck a barge and sank in the Warraq district of Giza, southwest of Cairo, at late night, said Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the spokesman of the Egyptian Health Ministry, in a TV speech. (Egypt-Shipwreck)

YAOUNDE -- An estimated 20 people were killed and more than 30 others injured as two suicide blasts on Wednesday hit Cameroon's northern city of Maroua, an army source said.
