Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras appeared determined to finalize the third bailout deal in August, government sources said on Wednesday, a few hours before a new crash test vote in the parliament on the second set of prior actions requested by creditors.

Addressing the assembly during the debate, Finance Minister Euclid Tsakalotos stressed that the goal was to have the final agreement sealed on time so that Greece can meet with no delay a bond repayment to the European Central Bank (ECB) on Aug. 20. (Greece-PM-Vote)

RAMADI -- A total of 27 people were killed and 14 wounded on Wednesday in air strikes and separate clashes against the Islamic State (IS) militants in Iraq's western province of Anbar, a provincial security source said.

Heavy clashes erupted in the morning in Jubba area, just near the town of Haditha, some 200 km northwest of the Iraqi capital of Baghdad, when Iraqi troops and allied paramilitary Sunni militiamen, covered by Iraqi helicopter gunships, attacked the positions of IS militants, leaving at least 12 extremist militants killed and destroying five of their vehicles along with blowing up a booby-trapped Shovel truck, the source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity. MOGADISHU -- African Union and Somali forces took control of the strategic town of Bardere in Gedo region in southern Somalia, military officials said on Wednesday.

"The joint forces entered Bardere, without resistance, the militants fled the town before we arrived," military officer Osman Jilicow told Xinhua. (Somalia-AU)

ANKARA -- Turkish authorities have identified a 20 year-old Turkish national as the perpetrator of a deadly suicide bombing which killed 32 people in Suruc town of Sanliurfa province in southeastern Turkey, local CnnTurk reported on Wednesday.

The authorities confirmed DNA tests after taking blood samples from family of Seyh Abdurrahman Alagoz, a 20-year-old university student registered in southeastern Adiyaman province, whose dead body was badly damaged in the blast. (Turkey-IS-Attack)

MAIMANA, Afghanistan -- About 12 people were killed while 32 others wounded after a suicide bomb attack hit a busy marketplace in Afghanistan's northern province of Faryab on Wednesday, police said.
