Fluminense membership soars after Ronaldinho signing

Fluminense have reported a 36% jump in club membership in the week since signing two-time FIFA World Player of the Year Ronaldinho.
The number of Fluminense members has risen to 34,000 from 25,000 since the 35-year-old joined the club on July 11, Brazilian news service Uol reported.
"The R10 effect is even more impressive if you consider the club's stagnant membership figures since 2013," the portal said. "In two years the number had increased by just 3,000, a lot less than what Fluminense had hoped for."
Ronaldinho will earn about 190,000 US dollars a month plus about 60,000 US dollars in add-ons.
"Those 9,000 paying fans will certainly help to pay the bill," the report said.
Fluminense are currently third in Brazil's Serie A standings with 27 points from 13 matches.
Ronaldinho was due to be presented to the club's fans at the Maracana stadium on Sunday but will only begin training on July 27. Endi
