Ukrainian Energy Minister Volodymyr Demchyshyn said Thursday that his country hopes to deepen its energy cooperation with Kazakhstan in various sectors.

"Our cooperation potential is very broad, and it includes such spheres as supply of oil, gas, uranium concentrate and coal," Demchyshyn said during the meeting of the Ukrainian-Kazakh intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation.

The two countries also have prospects for the joint development of renewable energy projects, the minister said, noting that Ukraine can provide Kazakhstan with wind power equipment.

For his part, Kazakh First Deputy Prime Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev said in the meeting that his country could supply 200,000 to 300,000 tons of coal per month to Ukraine.

Apart from energy cooperation, the intergovernmental commission also discussed ways to enhance collaboration between the two nations in such areas as agriculture, logistic, industry, tourism and culture. Endi
