Record amount of money retrieved in H1 for dissatisfied consumers

More than 592,000 complaints were dealt with and a whopping 890 million yuan (145.42 million U.S. dollars) retrieved for consumers by the State Administration for Industry and Commerce (SAIC) in the first half of 2015.

Complaints related to online shopping grew the most, up 140 percent year on year, according to the SAIC on Wednesday.

Online travelling services were the subject of 2,123 complaints, a year-on-year increase of 170 percent. Most complaints were about unfair charges for changes or cancellations.

Online catering services also received 31.2 percent more complaints compared with the same period last year.

The SAIC processed 199,000 cases of malefactions that had disturbed market order in the first six months, 29.6 percent less than the same period last year. Endi
