Tokyo shares end higher on eased Greece jitter

Tokyo shares ended slightly higher Wednesday as sentiment here was supported by an optimistic mood over Greek bailout plan.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average ended up 78.00 points, or 0. 38 percent, from Tuesday at 20,463.33.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was up 7.70 points, or 0.47 percent, at 1,646. 41.

Gainers were led by pharmaceutical, precision instrument and food issues.

The turnover was about 2,336.1 billion yen (about 18.92 billion U.S. dollars). Endi
