Xinhua summary of Asia-Pacific stocks news at 1100 GMT, July 14

China's benchmark Shanghai Composite Index lost 1.16 percent to close at 3,924.49 points Tuesday, ending a rally that had lasted for three trading days and once sent the index above the 4,000 psychological mark.

The smaller Shenzhen Component Index climbed 0.91 percent to close at 12,728.51 points.

SEOUL -- Seoul shares ended lower on Tuesday.

The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) fell 2. 29 points, or 0.11 percent, to 2,059.23 at the close. Trading volume stood at 496.98 million shares worth 6.69 trillion won (5. 87 billion U.S. dollars).

TOKYO -- Tokyo stocks soared 1.47 percent on Tuesday after Greece and the rest of the eurozone reached a provisional deal on the cash-strapped country's continued financial bailout Monday.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average was up 295.56 points, from Monday at 20,385.33. The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange gained 25.20 points, or 1.56 percent, higher at 1,638.71.

TAIPEI -- Taiwan's share prices closed up 0.08 percent on Tuesday with the weighted index up 7.84 points at 9,041.76, according to news reaching here from Taipei.

Turnover totaled 99.91 billion new Taiwan dollars (about 3.22 billion U.S. dollars) during the trading session.

MANILA -- Philippine shares closed 0.57 percent higher on Tuesday.

The benchmark Philippine Stock Exchange index increased by 42. 43 points to 7538.76. The all-share index went up by 27.85 points, or 0.65 percent, to 4296.63.

HO CHI MINH CITY -- VN-Index, the stock market index of Ho Chi Minh (HCM) City bourse in southern Vietnam,closed at 638.69 points on Tuesday, up 4.63 points, or 0.73 percent, against the previous trading day's closing session.

About 155.025 million shares worth 2.856 trillion Vietnamese dong (VND) (131.78 million U.S. dollars) changed hands at the HCM City Stock Exchange. Prices of 94 stocks went up, 116 stocks fell down, while 78 stocks remained unchanged.

HONG KONG -- Hong Kong stocks closed down 103.1 points, or 0.41 percent to 25,120.91 points on Tuesday.

The benchmark Hang Seng Index traded between 24,906.47 and 25, 250.95. Turnover totaled 126.12 billion HK dollars (about 16.25 billion U.S. dollars).

HANOI -- Stock market index of Vietnam's capital Hanoi, HNX- Index, closed at 88.74 points on Tuesday, up 0.16 points, or 0.18 percent, against the previous trading session.

A total of 72.975 million shares worth 894.630 billion Vietnamese dong (41.42 million U.S. dollars) were traded at the Hanoi Stock Exchange on Tuesday, an increase of 39.39 percent in volume and 43.07 percent in value against the previous trading session.

VIENTIANE -- The Lao stock market finished on Tuesday with composite index unchanged at 1,327.71.

A total of 49,980 shares worth about 327 million Lao kip (about 40,000 U.S. dollars) changed hands at the stock market.

JAKARTA -- Indonesian shares closed higher by 7.89 points, or 0. 16 percent, to a level of 4,901.81 on Tuesday.

Some 186,683 transactions were booked, involving 4.07 billion shares worth 4.04 trillion rupiah (about 303.00 million U.S. dollars).

SINGAPORE -- Singapore stocks finished higher on Tuesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 5.28 points, or 16 percent, to close at 3,316.50.

A total of 1.22 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 892.4 million Singapore dollars (656.2 million U.S. dollars).

BANGKOK -- The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET)index on Tuesday moved down 2.25 points, or 0.15 percent to close at 1,488.40 points.

Some 7.64 billion shares worth 30.50 billion baht (about 900 million U.S. dollars) changed hands.

KUALA LUMPUR -- The Malaysian stock market ended higher here on Tuesday.
