Eleven holiday travelers onboard a bus were killed after the bus rammed a steel bar that separates lanes in a toll road located in Indonesia's West Java city of Cirebon, making toll during Muslim Eid al Fitri holiday reaching 60 as of Tuesday.

The crash took place on the Palikanci toll road, linking Palimanan and Kanci sub-districts in Cirebon. The bus was on its way to Central Java city of Solo.

The toll road serves as an essential route that links the capital city Jakarta and West Java province to Central Java province.

The crash occurred after the bus failed to avoid a speeding car, claiming lives of 11 passengers and injuring 35 others.

The crash made car traffic on the toll road stranded, inciting a traffic jam up to four km on the toll road, police said.

National police headquarters recorded a total of 723 road accidents across the nation during the holiday. Endi
