LME base metals close higher on Monday

The base metals prices on the London Metal Exchange (LME) closed higher on Monday, as an agreement was reached on Monday morning that might help Greece avoid exiting the eurozone.

The eurozone summit reached agreement on Monday morning after 17 hours of tough discussions, eurozone leaders announced. The good news gave a boost to metals prices.

The three-month unofficial copper price increased 11 U.S. dollars, or 0.20 percent, to 5,591 U.S. dollars per tonne.

The three-month unofficial aluminium price increased 16 U.S. dollars, or 0.94 percent, to 1,710 U.S. dollars a tonne.

The three-month unofficial lead price increased 49 U.S. dollars, or 2.73 percent, to 1,845 U.S. dollars a tonne.

Besides, the three-month unofficial zinc price increased 50 U.S. dollars, or 2.50 percent, to 2,051 U.S. dollars a tonne.

The three-month unofficial nickel price increased 185 U.S. dollars, or 1.64 percent, to 11,475 U.S. dollars a tonne.

The three-month unofficial tin price increased 425 U.S. dollars, or 3.02 percent, to 14,500 U.S. dollars a tonne. Enditem
