British FTSE 100 up 0.97 pct on Monday

FTSE 100 Index, British benchmark stock market gauge, Monday increased by 0.97 percent, or 64.57 points, to 6,737.95 points.

The London stock closed higher after eurozone summit reached an agreement with Greece on Monday morning to avert the country's bankruptcy and exit from eurozone.

International Consolidated Airlines Group SA's share price increased by 3.39 percent, topping the gainers of the blue chips. Kingfisher, Morrison (Wm) Supermarkets, Admiral Group and Carnival by 3.01 percent, 3.01 percent, 2.72 percent and 2.48 percent respectively.

BG Group led the top losers of the blue chips with a share price drop of 0.88 percent, followed by Coca-Cola HBC AG (0.59 percent), National Grid (0.48 percent), Royal Dutch Shell 'B' (0.46 percent) and British American Tobacco (0.26 percent).

The index has gained 4.92 percent so far this year when adjusted in U.S. dollar. Enditem
