India clinched their three-match cricket One day International series with Zimbabwe after a 62 run victory pushed them to an unassailable two-nil lead in Harare on Sunday.
Hosts Zimbabwe needed to win this match to retain any hopes of winning the series ahead of Tuesday's final match, but the tourists proved too good.
Openers Murali Vijay and Ajinta Rahane each scored half centuries to lay a perfect platform after Zimbabwe captain Elton Chigumbura had won the toss electing to bowl first.
India set Zimbabwe a winning target of 273, but Zimbabwe's innings got off to a bad start when they lost Vusi Sibanda then Hamilton Masakadza cheaply, and they never managed to recover.
Opener Chamu Chibhabha scored an entertaining 72 runs before he fell to a brilliant run out and there was little else from the other batsmen for Zimbabwe who were bowled out for 209.
Neville Madziva took a career best 4 for 49 for Zimbabwe but the hosts struggled to contain the Indian batsmen.
Zimbabwe will be searching for a consolation win on Tuesday while India will be looking to wrap up a whitewash. Endit
