Guangzhou Evergrande reclaim top spot in Chinese Super League

Xinhua, July 11, 2015 Adjust font size:

Guangzhou Evergrande reclaimed top spot with a 2-0 rout over the ten-man Changchun Yatai in the 18th round of 2015 Chinese Super League (CSL) on Saturday.

Guangzhou's Ricardo Goulart broke the deadlock in the 11th minute with a superb strike. Four minutes later, Guangzhou were awarded a penalty kick for the hand ball of Zhang Xiaofei, and Goulart doubled the lead for the team.

Since then, Changchun missed some shots. What was worse, Szabolcs Huszti was shown a second yellow card and sent off in the 70th and the ten-man Changchun had no way to overturn the defending champions.

Elsewhere, Tianjin Teda tied Shanghai Greenland 1-1 at home, Shandong Luneng beat Jiangsu Sainty 3-2 and Henan Jianye were held to a 1-1 draw by newcomer Chongqing Lifan. Endi
