Cologne sign Juventus Turin defender Frederik Soerensen

Xinhua, July 11, 2015 Adjust font size:

Juventus' defender Frederik Soerensen joins Bundesliga club Cologne, both sides confirmed in official statements on Saturday.

The 23-year-old defender agreed on a four-year deal that will keep him till June 2019 with the "Billygoats". The new arrival received the jersey number four.

"I am glad that we were able to sign centre back Frederik Soerensen. Despite his young age he proved himself in Italy's Serie A," Cologne's sporting director Joerg Schmadtke said.

Soerensen played two seasons at Bologna and one at Hellas Verona on loan, where he scored two goals in 52 appearances overall.

"Cologne is an interesting club and its development impresses me. Of course, Cologne is well known in Denmark and Italy. I am pleased to be part of such a club," the new arrival told the club's official homepage.

Cologne host Stuttgart at the first round of Bundesliga on August 15. Endi
