Vietnamese player reaches first Wimbledon boys' doubles semis

Vietnam's top young tennis player Ly Hoang Nam has, for the first time, secured a berth at the semifinals of the boys' doubles at Wimbledon.

Nam and his partner, India's Sumit Nagal, beat Japanese pair Yusuke Takahashi and Jumpei Yamasaki 6-2, 6-3 in the quarterfinals on Friday local time.

Ly became the first Vietnamese player to enter the semifinals at a Grand Slam.

In the next round, Nam/Nagal will play No 5 seed Miomir Kecmanovic (Serbia) and Casper Ruud (Norway) who beat William Blumberg/Tim Paul from the United States. Endit
