Indian president greets Mongolia on eve of its National Day

Indian President Pranab Mukherjee on Friday greeted Mongolia on the eve of its National Day.

"On behalf of the government, the people of India and on my own behalf, I extend warm greetings and felicitations to you, to the government and the people of Mongolia on the occasion of your National Day," the Indian president said in a message to his Mongolian counterpart Tsakhia Elbegdorj.

He added: "India values and cherishes its relationship with Mongolia which is anchored in our shared historical and spiritual linkages."

President Mukherjee also hailed the bilateral relations between the two countries, saying he is "confident that the elevation of our relations to that of a Strategic Partnership during the recent visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Mongolia will herald a new era of cooperation and partnership."

The engagement of India and Mongolia will contribute to the socio-economic progress and prosperity of the two nations, he said.

Mongolia celebrates its National Day on July 11. Endi
