Chinese shares tumble nearly 6 percent at closing

Chinese shares extended slumps on Wednesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index sinking 5.9 percent to finish at 3,507.19 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index slumped 2.94 percent to close at 11,040.89points.

The ChiNext Index, tracking China's Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, rose 0.51 percent to end at 2,364.05 points. Endi
