Defending champion Novak Djokovic defeated South African Kevin Anderson in a five-set thriller to enter the quarterfinals at Wimbledon here on Tuesday.

The top-seeded Serb, who had fought back from two sets down to draw 2-2 when darkness stopped play on Monday night, defeated Anderson 6-7 (6-8), 6-7 (6-8), 6-1, 6-4, 7-5.

"To come back and win in five gives me great satisfaction and confidence for the next challenge," Djokovic said after the match.

Djokovic, also the 2011 champion, will face last year's US Open champion Marin Cilic for a place in the last four. Endi
