Xinhua, July 3, 2015 Adjust font size:

U.S. President Barack Obama will welcome to the White House Nguyen Phu Trong, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, on July 7 on bilateral relations and major international issues, the White House said Friday.

Obama looks forward to discussing with Trong ways to further strengthen the U.S.-Vietnam comprehensive partnership, reviewing the accomplishments of the past 20 years since the normalization of bilateral diplomatic relations, White House spokesman Josh Earnest said in a statement.

Obama also welcomes the opportunity to discuss other issues, including the Trans-Pacific Partnership, human rights, and bilateral defense cooperation, the spokesman added. Endi
