Vietnamese leaders convey condolences to Indonesia over military plane crash

Vietnamese leaders on Wednesday sent condolences to Indonesian leader over the crash of an Indonesian military plane.

On learning that the C-130 Hercules plane crashed into the downtown of Indonesia's North Sumatra capital city of Medan midday Tuesday, causing deaths to many people, Vietnamese President Truong Tan Sang and Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung on Wednesday sent condolences to Indonesian President Joko Widodo over the loss.

On the same day, Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh also extended sympathies to Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi over the tragedy, Vietnam's foreign ministry said on its website on Wednesday.

The ill-fated C-130 Hercules plane crashed shortly after takeoff. More than 110 people have been killed from the crash, according to media reports. Endi
