Xinhua, July 1, 2015 Adjust font size:

China and Spain should take advantage of the 10th anniversary of their comprehensive strategic partnership to enhance cultural exchanges and promote cooperation between media organizations in the two countries, a senior Communist Party of China (CPC) official said.

During his visit to Spain, Liu Qibao, head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, said efforts should be made to enrich and diversify the contents of cultural and media exchanges so as to promote mutual understanding and friendship between the two peoples, and further consolidate the foundation of bilateral ties.

Liu, also a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, briefed Spanish politicians on China's Belt and Road initiatives and the progress made so far.

The Chinese official, who led a CPC delegation to Spain for a three-day visit starting Sunday, met here with President of the Spanish Congress Jesus Posada, General Vice-Secretary of the ruling Popular Party (PP) Andrea Levy and the General Secretary of the Spanish Socialist Party (PSOE) Pedro Sanchez.

During his stay in Spain, Liu inspected a series of cultural cooperation programs between the two countries, visited the Chinese Cultural Center in Madrid, and met with Spanish media representatives. Endi
