Djokovic, Williams reach second round at Wimbledon

Defending champion Novak Djokovic defeated Philipp Kohlschreiber in straight sets in the first round of Wimbledon here on Monday.

The top-seeded Serb needed two hours and three minutes to beat the 33rd-ranked German 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 at the Centre Court.

Djokovic will next face the winner between Finland's Jarkko Nieminen and former champion Lleyton Hewitt of Australia.

Women's world number one Serena Williams breezed past debutant Margarita Gasparyan to progress to the second round.
